What is a Rain Check

A Rain Check or a raincheck is an agreement from a seller to a buyer that an item, whether on sale or not, that is currently out of stock can be purchased for the same price when it does become available.

It is a promise to allow someone to buy something in the future because it is not possible to buy it now.

For instance a seller would say, "If you miss out, we will sell it to you later for the same price"

A buyer might say "I cannot buy it now but can I take a raincheck?"

A buyer would say, "I''ll take a Rain Check."

Buy now pay later is not a rain check. BNPL is a form of credit where a buyer takes possession of a product and pays for it at a later date usually by installments.
